Ben Hatch
Founder
Ben Hatch established Great Western Reclamation in 2000 with a vision to restore and enhance landscapes across the Southwest. What began as a small operation focusing on oilfield reclamation in New Mexico and Arizona quickly expanded into new markets, including property management, lawn care, and landscaping. Over the years, his dedication and hard work have grown the company into one of the largest landscaping businesses in the Four Corners region.
Despite the tremendous success, Ben remains deeply connected to the people and values that have driven this growth—integrity, a strong work ethic, and a passion for excellence. A graduate of Utah State University with a degree in Agriculture Systems Technology, Ben brings a deep understanding of Southwest landscapes and the expertise needed to deliver top-quality results.
From farming and ranching to crafting professional sports fields, Ben thrives in the outdoors and takes pride in rolling up his sleeves to get the job done. Known for his approachable demeanor, unwavering commitment, and love for what he does, Ben is always ready to take on any challenge with a smile.
Trevor Hatch
Vice President / General Manager
Trevor Hatch rejoined Great Western Reclamation in 2019 as Executive Vice President, bringing with him a wealth of expertise and a passion for excellence. He oversees critical aspects of the business, including development, design, estimating, finance, and project management, ensuring every project is executed with precision and care.
With a bachelor's degree in Construction Management from BYU, Trevor has a strong foundation in delivering complex projects. Prior to his return to GWR, he worked for one of the largest national multifamily construction firms in the U.S., where he successfully managed large-scale projects from concept and design through completion and sale.
Trevor thrives on the building process, taking pride in transforming ideas into tangible results. For him, every project is an opportunity to work with integrity and foster meaningful relationships with family, friends, clients, and partners. His ultimate goal is to deliver exceptional outcomes while creating lasting friendships along the way.
Matthew Hatch
Vice President of Operations
Matthew Hatch serves as the Vice President of Operations at Great Western Reclamation, where he bridges the gap between customers, vendors, employees, and contractors to ensure seamless communication and exceptional results. His dedication to quality and attention to detail make him an integral part of delivering a final product that exceeds expectations.
Matthew is often found onsite, studying the specifics of properties from northern Utah to central Arizona, where he applies his deep appreciation for how plants thrive within the living landscape. As a Product Specialist, he stays ahead of industry standards and innovations, ensuring GWR has the best equipment and tools to tackle any job efficiently and effectively.
A lover of the outdoors, Matthew enjoys every aspect of working with nature, from repairing irrigation systems and mowing lawns to pruning trees. When he’s not working, you’ll find him running, biking, or hiking new trails, often with his family. With a Bachelor’s Degree from BYU and a Master’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame, Matthew combines academic expertise with hands-on experience to elevate GWR’s operations and customer satisfaction.
